At Petrotech, we understand that growing sustainably means recognizing our impact, measuring it, and taking action on it..
That is why we have mapped out a path toward carbon neutrality by 2028, integrating the measurement of our carbon footprint with mitigation and offsetting actions that allow us to progressively transform the impact of our operations.
In 2022, we established our emissions baseline, and since then, carbon footprint measurement has been incorporated into our processes as a tool to guide decisions and strengthen our climate change management.
Measure to Take Action
Our emissions inventory is prepared in accordance with the GHG Protocol and the NTC-ISO 14064-1:2020 guidelines and has been verified by ICONTEC, achieving 98% compliance.
The measurement shows a reduction in Scope 1 emissions, which decreased from 1,539.19 tCO₂e in 2023 to 1,401.55 tCO₂e in 2024. For Scope 2, 2.34 tCO₂e were recorded in 2023 and 3.07 tCO₂e in 2024.
A Progressive Path Toward 2028
Petrotech is advancing a strategy that combines mitigation and offsetting to progressively achieve its goal.
In 2024, we offset 245 tCO₂e, equivalent to 17% of 2023 emissions. In 2025, we strengthened this commitment by achieving an offset of 850 tCO₂e, corresponding to 60.5% of 2024 emissions.
2024 → 17% offset
2025 → 60.5% offset
2028 → Goal: 100%
This progress strengthens our path toward carbon neutrality by 2028 and reaffirms our commitment to SDG 13 – Climate Action.
Zero Carbon 2028: measuring our impact, taking action on it, and transforming the way we operate.
